Birthdays are celebrations that should be celebrated every year.

This is especially true if the celebrant is a kid

They are always excited to celebrate their birthdays with their favorite foods and surround themselves with their peers.

Generally, parents and guardians can fulfill the responsibility of preparing a birthday party for their kids, but if they recently hired Manhattan movers and long-distance moving companies, setting up a party can become a challenge.

Fortunately, all is not lost as there are simple Do-It-Yourself birthday décor ideas for kids.

By strategically using some of your kids’ school supplies, you will be surprised how you can create a birthday-ready home.

Here are some DIY birthday décor ideas to try out:

1. Rainbow water

Does your kid have a favorite color?

Do they want to use this color in their birthday party?

For a simple yet creative way of incorporating this color, buy some liquid food coloring, and pour some drops in your flower vases.

Make sure that your flower vases are made from clear glass to better show off the color.

You can use one color in different vases or invest in different colors.

Accessorize it with yarn, buttons, or glitter and add your favorite flower. You and your kids will surely enjoy creating unique rainbow vases.

2. Embellished Party Hats

Party hats are a staple in every kid's party.

Any party will not be complete unless the celebrant and all of their guests wear party hats. Steer away from the conventional type of party hats and choose to make unique ones for your kid.

For this project, you just need a few pieces of paper and different kinds of knick-knacks.

Pom poms, felt papers, and other types of papers can make party hats look more colorful and interesting. You can even let the kids decorate their own party hats as part of the birthday games!

3. Balloon Backdrop

Aside from being a favorite among children, balloons can also add life and color to every birthday party. With careful placements, balloons can make any space in your home feel and look like a birthday party is happening.

For your kid’s birthday party, take it up a notch by building a balloon backdrop. Simply place several balloons on a horizontal line and place them in a wall in a room. You can put some crepe paper to mimic the look of curtains.

Depending on your kid’s preference, you can use balloons in the same or different colors. You can even mix printed-colored balloons with plain ones. This will definitely look great on photos.

4. Glitter Balloons

Balloons are a fool-proof way of making any birthday party lively and colorful.

Balloons are inexpensive and very easy to assemble. If you want your kid’s birthday party to be one for the books, make glitter balloons. This DIY project puts a modern twist to every kid's favorites – balloons.

To do this project, pump air into your balloons and dip the head of the balloons into a mixture of glitter and glue. Let the balloon dry overnight and hang it upside down in the ceiling.

For a more colorful party décor, use different colors of glitters and balloons.

5. Ribbon Chandelier

If your kid’s birthday party will be held indoors, make some ribbon chandelier to create an impression.

Although this DIY craft might sound luxurious, making one will only require scrap cloths and a wooden ring. All you have to do is cut the cloths in different lengths, tie one end in the wooden ring and let the other end sway in the wind.

Depending on your preference, you can choose to make one big ribbon chandelier or make several small ones. Just make sure that these are placed a few meters from each other to allow them to dance freely with the wind!
